The Allotment and 'Primrose Hill' paintings are based on landscapes both near and further afield. A local allotment and the iconic Primrose Hill, London provide particularly interesting contrasts and possibilities as subjects: being amidst the confusion of allotment paraphernalia compared with the regal view from the top of Primrose Hill looking towards Regent’s Park. Both places have a familiarity - Primrose Hill not least as the subject of many of Frank Auerbach’s paintings.
Subsequent work includes paintings based on Royston Heath. The Heath is a site of much history and
interest, and vast swathes of land that give way to some interesting panoramas.
